Our water team is flushing our bores at Kinchela – water will be discharged along Hat Head Road until early next week.
The NSW Government has partnered with Koala Conservation Australia in a four-year Regional Partnership to restore and improve koala habitat in the Port Macquarie and Kempsey region.
For Kempsey Shire Council, this will see fantastic initiatives that will have a positive impact on our koalas. We'll be creating new habitat maps specifically designed to support koalas, giving them safe and comfortable spaces to thrive.
We're also launching campaigns to address two major challenges: vehicle strikes and dog attacks on koalas. Through these campaigns, we'll be working to reduce these threats and ensure the well-being of our koalas and your beloved pets.
We'll also roll out resources that will empower our local community to take action. These resources will provide valuable information and guidance, allowing individuals to make a real difference in koala safety and health. Together, we can build a stronger knowledge base and improve our conservation efforts.
