Koala Food Tree Giveaway

The annual Koala Feed Tree Giveaway project sees around 2000 koala feed trees planted in the Kempsey Shire.

This helps to regenerate koala habitat lost in recent bushfires.

Four species of koala feed trees are distributed, including Tallowwood, Grey Gum, Swampy Mahogany and Forest Red Gum. These trees, reaching heights of up to 40 meters, provide essential food sources for koalas.

The initiative is a partnership between Koala Conservation Australia, Koala Recovery Partnership, and Macleay Landcare, supporting the recovery and preservation of the local koala population. This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
