How does this weed affect you?

Parthenium weed grows quickly. It outcompetes other plants, competing for nutrients and moisture by releasing chemicals into the soil that inhibit growth. Parthenium weed competes with crop seedlings, often reducing yields and contaminating grain.

Parthenium weed is a known to cause health problems in humans and livestock and is a known host for crop viruses. It is capable of outcompeting plants in drought-affected areas, as well as reducing the carrying capacity of land.
