Giant Parramatta Grass
Giant Parramatta Grass (Sporobolus fertilis)
This plant should not be sold in parts of New South Wales.
Giant Parramatta Grass is a dense, perennial, tussock grass which can grow up to two metres tall.
How does this weed affect you?
Giant Parramatta Grass competes with pasture grasses, reducing the productivity and value of grazing of land, as well as competing with native plants, and its tall, dry seed heads increase fuel loads, leading to higher fire intensity and frequency.
