Guest speaker Ellie Cole
Following the wrap up of Day 4, attendees are invited to enjoy a networking event at the Country University Centre in Kempsey from 4pm – 6pm with guest speaker, Ellie Cole. Ellie is one of Australia’s most accomplished Paralympians. Holding an OAM, and 15 Paralympic medals, Ellie has achieved great success.
Ellie was three when her right leg was amputated due to a life-threatening sarcoma cancer. Rather than dwell on the loss, Ellie used the experience to spur her incredible ability to overcome adversity. In 2012, following success at the London Paralympics, Ellie suffered a double shoulder reconstruction and faced the possibility of never swimming again. Rather than give up, Ellie fought hard and continued to swim. She is now the World Record Holder in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay. Competing in Rio in 2016, Ellie walked away with 6 medals from the 6 swimming events she took part in. Ellie most recently won Cosmopolitan Magazine’s ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ and was listed in the Westpac 100 Women of Influence. As a speaker, Ellie combines her incredibly motivating story with her sense of humour to deliver a resonating story that audiences are inspired by.
