Tender - Melinda Schneider Art Exhibition and opening

The Nulla Nulla Regional Gallery will be hosting the Melinda Schneider 'Tender' Art exhibition 27 September to 24 November 2024. Melinda Schneider is a celebrated Australian country musician, who has released 14 albums and won six Country Music Association Golden Guitar awards.

The exhibition will open with an event on Friday 27 September 5:00-7pm. 

Everyone is invited to attend; the opening and exhibition it a totally free event and is a rare opportunity to hear from one of Australia's country music legends.

Melinda will officially open her exhibition with an artist talk and performance of the first single from her new album, Tender.

ABOUT THE EXHBITION

Melinda has created a new album called Tender with 12 original tracks. To accompany the album, she has also created 12 original abstract art paintings, to express her feelings and the meaning of each song.

ABOUT MELINDA & HER ART 

The past few years Melinda has been drawn to visual abstraction, inspired to break free from the perfectionism her music career demanded and serves as a form of therapy. Melinda experienced two bouts of major depression in 2018 and 2019 and painting as a practice offers her a way to process difficult feelings and helps her stay in the moment.

During Covid she was unable to tour and perform, and turned her creativity to visual art. She embraced painting, taking weekly lessons with local artist Annie Reid. As a naturally creative soul, Melinda discovered that visual art provided her with another powerful medium, much like singing and songwriting, to express herself and explore freedom through artistic expression.
