Official opening of Kalateenee Mountain Bike Trails upgrade

Join Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers for the official opening event for the upgrade of the five enduro mountain bike trails, carpark, and accessible amenities at Kalateenee Mountain Bike Park, South Kempsey:

The construction of the carpark and toilet facilities will provide better access to much of the trail network for people of all riding abilities, their families and support networks. The area being a safe place where members of the community can park their vehicles, relax, refresh and recover before hitting the mountain bike trails for more fun and enjoyment.

Minister for Regional NSW Tara Moriarty said it’s great to see the completion of the project, which will see more people easily access the great outdoors and fantastic bike trails that the Macleay Valley region has to offer. “Carpark upgrades like this ensure locals and visitors to the Kalateenee Mountain Bike Park have a better user experience when accessing the highly popular trails,” Ms Moriarty said.

How was this project funded?

Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers club has received a $301,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Places to Play grant, facilitated by Kempsey Shire Council to upgrade the Kalateenee Forest Mountain Bike Enduro Trails.

The Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers Club also secured $130,698 additional funding from the NSW Government which saw the construction of a new carpark within the mountain bike park, along Grass Tree Road.

The MVMB Club also secured extra funding through the Coastline Community Foundation, which has seen new double accessible toilets installed within the carpark area.
