Our water team is flushing our bores at Kinchela – water will be discharged along Hat Head Road until early next week.
Steuart McIntyre Dam is approaching 100% capacity. A controlled discharge from the dam has been activated, which will result in higher flows in Fattorini creek.
Kempsey Shire Council received significant grant funding to dedicate resources to help support the community in recovering from previous natural disasters and to help prepare for any future emergencies.

Preparedness is everyone's responsibility. The Macleay Valley has experienced more than 20 natural disasters over the past decade. The Local Preparedness Plan is designed for the communities around the shire to be prepared and know the main risks in the area.
