Upgrades to Elringtons Lane get underway

Pedestrian laneway between buildings in Kempsey

If you’re planning to take a stroll down Elringtons Lane, you’ll notice a few things happening in the next month.

Work begun on revitalising Elringtons Lane in Kempsey’s CBD on Monday 29 August. This means, at times, you won’t be able to access Belgrave Street using the laneway as it will be closed. Pedestrians will still be able to access Belgrave Street through the Kempsey Central car park.

Crews will be making improvements to the footpaths to make the laneway more accessible and upgrading the surrounding underground sewer network. Vehicle and delivery access should not be affected during this time.

Throughout September, artwork, lighting, CCTV and decorative pavements will be installed, which will also cause minor disruptions to pedestrian movements.

Planning is taking place for the improvements to Savages Lane.
