Savages Lane closed for mural installation

Savages Lane will be closed to all through traffic and pedestrians in preparation for the installation of murals from 7am Monday 23 January through to 5pm Wednesday 25 January 2023, weather permitting.

As the project is rolled out through January, February and March, Savages Lane will be closed completely at the following times (weather permitting).

Installation of Murals

8.30am Wednesday 1 February to 5pm Tuesday 14 March.  

This is Stage 2 of the Streets as Shared Spaces project, a collaborative community project to revamp the laneways of Kempsey.

Murals in Elringtons Lane for Stage 1 have now been completed.

The murals in Savages Lane will be created by a selection of artists chosen through an expression of interest process.

The artists include locals Jason Ridgeway, Kelly Purvis, Deb Broughton, Stephen McLeod and INDO The Artist, while the regional and metro artists hail from Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
