Retail businesses get ready to dress up

Retail businesses are dressing up their shop windows from September 12 – 18 to promote the Get Ready Family Fun Day taking place this month.

The ‘Dress Your Biz Up’ competition is open to all retail businesses throughout the shire. Windows can be dressed up in red to remind folks to Get Ready for future disasters.

A $500 accommodation voucher to spend at Macleay Valley Holiday Parks is up for grabs for the winning business. The best dressed window will be announced at the Get Ready Family Fun Day, Sunday 18 September at Verge Street car park.

The ‘Get Ready Family Fun Day’ is part of  Council’s Get Ready Kempsey program. The program provides the opportunity for our community to come together to get ready for future emergencies. There’ll be loads of fun and free activities for the kids on the day. Local emergency services will also be on hand to offer tips and information to be better prepared in times of disaster.
