Road and bridge closures following flood

Update 4pm Monday 11 July 2022
Old Aerodrome Road, Euroka Road now OPEN. Maria River Road remains closed with hopes to update Tuesday.
Dowlings Falls Causeway will remain CLOSED until the water drops to an appropriate level to allow staff to complete repairs. It may remain closed for up to a week, residents have an alternate route.
Flood gates will open when the Macleay River Returns to a normal tidal pattern and there has been additional drainage time. Council estimates this will be in approximately one week.

Council staff have inspected and OPENED Dungay Creek Causeway and Second Lane.

Council staff have inspected and OPENED Sherwood and Toorooka Bridges.

There were no further impacts on Friday from the recent rain.
Council will provide updates on bridge and road status as they arise.
BRIDGES
Current Bridge Status:
- Sherwood Bridge is OPEN
- Turners Flat Bridge is OPEN
- Temagog Bridge is OPEN
- Toorooka Bridge is OPEN
- Bellbrook Bridge is OPEN
- Dungay Creek Causeway is OPEN
- Dowlings Falls Causeway is CLOSED
Please do not cross any bridges that have water across the deck. There may be hidden dangers.
ROADS
- Old Aerodrome Road, Aldavilla is OPEN
- Gladstone Street Underpass is OPEN
- Euroka Road at Theresa Street is OPEN
- Collombatti Road at the Tea Tree Farm is OPEN
- The Kempsey to Armidale Road between the Forest Way intersection and the Armidale Regional Council boundary is now OPEN to local residents for essential travel and emergency services
- Second Lane is OPEN
- Maria River Road is OPEN
Please continue to travel with caution in low lying areas.
FLOOD GATES
All flood gates are closed
- Kinchela Creek cross over and relief gates are CLOSED
- Belmore River cross over and relief gates are CLOSED
- Christmas Creek flood gates are CLOSED
- Euroka Creek flood gates are CLOSED

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
In the event of flooding, Council urges people to:
- refrain from driving or walking through flood water
- consider the impact of possible road closures and flood isolation on work, family and educational commitments
- monitor emergency warnings and severe weather updates on local ABC radio, the NSW SES Mid North Coast Facebook page and the Bureau of Meteorology website
- if your property is at risk of inundation, raise moveable items, such as furniture, as high as possible onto benches or tables, placing electrical items on top
- if you live in a low-lying area and are advised by an emergency services officer to evacuate, please do so
- secure outside belongings and before leaving turn off the power and water and take essential medicines and clothes with you.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain cautious on the roads for localised impacts and not attempt to drive through floodwaters or cross flooded bridges. Council's work teams are inspecting roads and any areas of concern will be advised.
Council welcomes advice from residents in outlying areas about any concerns which may be reported to Council on 6566 3200. However our Customer Service Centre is currently experiencing a high volume of calls so please check that your concerns have not already been addressed online.

In life-threatening situations call triple zero (000) or from any mobile dial one one two (112) immediately.
