Flood warning for the Macleay River - Final Update

UPDATE
๐ Flood relief and cross over gates will be reopened early next week.
๐ The Bureau of Meteorology issued a FINAL flood warning for the Macleay River at 1.21pm on Monday.
๐ No further flooding is expected in the Macleay River.
๐ The Bureau of Meteorology issued a CANCELLATION of Severe Weather Warning at 8.14am on Monday.
๐ All bridges are now open.

The Bureau of Meteorology warning states:
"No further flooding is expected in the Macleay River.
"The Macleay River at Georges Creek is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m)."

Bridges that cross the Macleay River upstream of Kempsey are open.

Please exercise caution and drive to conditions.
FLOOD GATES
Flood relief and cross over gates will be reopened early next week. All flood mitigation structures were closed on Saturday.
๐ Kinchela Creek cross over and relief gates are CLOSED
๐ Belmore River cross over and relief gates are CLOSED
๐ Christmas Creek Flood gates are CLOSED
๐ Euroka Creek Flood gates are CLOSED
STUARTS POINT
โฝ Staff are on site and pumps are in place and operational.
โฝ Groundwater levels have been trending downward since September, however recent rainfall has seen further rises in groundwater levels.
โฝ Council staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates should conditions change
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
๐ต๏ธโ๏ธ Residents and visitors are urged to remain cautious on the roads for localised impacts and not attempt to drive through floodwaters or cross flooded bridges.
