Nurse Kirkpatrick Bridge on Nulla Nulla Creek Road is becoming safer, higher and less flood prone.

Kempsey Shire Council is asking residents and motorists to be aware of heavy equipment and machinery while Nurse Kirkpatrick Bridge is replaced.

The current timber bridge will not be closed while construction takes place and motorists will still be able to use the road.

The works start on Monday 3 July and will finish up on Monday 31 August, weather permitting. On weekdays, workers will be onsite between 7am and 4pm.

Once constructed, the bridge will be a new concrete structure, 1.5 metres higher, able to withstand heavier loads and provide safer conditions.

Costs for this replacement is part of Council’s $20.5 million funding from NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program.
