Join the farmer, the butcher, and the pitmaster to taste the most delicious beef the Macleay has to offer on the October long weekend.

Kempsey Shire Council is excited to present the River to the Sea beef and barbeque event in partnership with the Slim Dusty Centre. Our Shire is an incredibly proud community and now residents have the chance to eat the best we have on Saturday 1 October from 1pm until 3pm at the Slim Dusty Centre.

The event will feature:

  • multi-award-winning pitmaster Adam Roberts will demonstrate how to cook beef cuts using the low n slow method before serving them up.
  • local butcher Sam Thompson will show how to break down a carcass live on stage
  • live Q&A with local agricultural producers on paddock and stock management
  • Blues band The Shufflemen will entertain with their fun and laid-back mix of originals and covers.
