New playground for East Kempsey
Published on 20 February 2023
Kempsey Shire Council is thrilled to announce that a new playground is being built at Dock Flat, Rudder Street in East Kempsey.
The current playground, which has been enjoyed by local children for many years, is reaching the end of its usable lifespan, and Council is taking this opportunity to replace it with a new, modern play space.
Thanks to a grant of $65,222 from the NSW Government Department of Planning, Council is able to build a playground that will provide endless hours of fun for local kids. The new playground will include a range of exciting play equipment and structures, including swings, slides, and climbing frames, as well as additional seating and a formal concrete footpath for better access.
To make way for the new playground, the current one will be closed from Wednesday 15 March 2023 while works are carried out. Council is committed to minimizing the disruption to the community, and the works will be carried out as quickly as possible to ensure that the playground is closed for as short a time as possible.
In preparation for the new playground, Council has released images of the old playground and designs for the new one, and local residents are already excited about what's to come. The new playground is set to be a vibrant and lively addition to the community, and the Civic Services team are looking forward to welcoming local families to enjoy the new space once it is completed.
This new playground is just one of the ways that Kempsey Shire Council is working to improve the quality of life for residents in Kempsey and the surrounding areas. Council is committed to providing safe and accessible public spaces for families to enjoy, and the new playground is just one of the many initiatives aimed at promoting community health and wellbeing.
So mark the date in your calendars and get ready for a brand new playground experience at Dock Flat, Rudder Street in East Kempsey! The council looks forward to welcoming the community to the new play space in the near future.
