Floodgates to be reopened

Kempsey Shire Council will reopen the floodgates and crossover gates on Wednesday as normal tidal patterns have returned.
The Minor Flooding warning is no longer in place for the Macleay River.
All bridges are now open again.
BRIDGES
- Bellbrook Bridge is OPEN
- Toorooka Bridge is OPEN
- Temagog Bridge is OPEN
- Turners Flat Bridge is OPEN
- Sherwood Bridge is OPEN
Council staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
FLOOD GATES
The floodgates at Euroka Creek and Christmas Creek will be reopened on Wednesday.
The crossover and relief gates on Kinchela Creek and Belmore River will be reopened on Wednesday.
RIVER LEVELS

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
In the event of flooding, Council urges people to:
- refrain from driving or walking through flood water
- consider the impact of possible road closures and flood isolation on work, family and educational commitments
- monitor emergency warnings and severe weather updates on local ABC radio, the NSW SES Mid North Coast Facebook page and the Bureau of Meteorology website
- if your property is at risk of inundation, raise moveable items, such as furniture, as high as possible onto benches or tables, placing electrical items on top
- if you live in a low-lying area and are advised by an emergency services officer to evacuate, please do so
- secure outside belongings and before leaving turn off the power and water and take essential medicines and clothes with you.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain cautious on the roads for localised impacts and not attempt to drive through floodwaters or cross flooded bridges. Council's work teams are inspecting roads and any areas of concern will be advised.
Council welcomes advice from residents in outlying areas about any concerns which may be reported to Council on 6566 3200. However our Customer Service Centre is currently experiencing a high volume of calls so please check that your concerns have not already been addressed online.

In life-threatening situations call triple zero (000) or from any mobile dial one one two (112) immediately.
