Loftus Bridge on Belmore River Left Bank Road becoming safer, stronger and more durable with a new concrete bridge built in July and August

Kempsey Shire Council is asking residents and motorists to be aware of heavy equipment and machinery while Loftus Bridge is replaced.

The current timber bridge will not be closed while construction takes place and motorists will still be able to use the road.

The works start on Monday 17 July and will finish up on Friday 25 August. On weekdays, workers will be onsite between 7am and 4pm, weather permitting.

Once constructed, Loftus Bridge will be a new concrete structure, able to withstand heavier loads and provide safer conditions.

Costs for this replacement is part of Council’s $20.5 million funding from the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program.
