Koala Feed Tree Giveaway 2024

Community members who live on larger land areas or farms are encouraged to take part in the Koala Feed Tree Giveaway 2024.

Free koala feed trees will be available to collect on 28 May 2024 from the Macleay Landcare office, located on Wharf Street, East Kempsey, between 12pm - 4:30pm.

The four species of trees available are:

  • Eucalyptus microcorys (Tallowwood)
  • Eucalyptus propinqua (Grey Gum)
  • Eucalyptus robusta (Swampy Mahogany)
  • Eucalyptus tereticornis (Forest Red Gum)

There will also be additional rainforest species for sale on the day from LandCare nurseries, with a broad mix of rainforest, wet sclerophyll, oak and wattle species available.

If you would like to support our endangered koala by planting feed trees on your property, place your order here between 6 May and 24 May.

The koala tree species all grow into large trees, up to 40 metres tall given the right conditions, so are not suitable for the average suburban block.
