Kempsey's pump track heroes

Working on the pump track

The West Kempsey Pump Track is making great headway and it’s all thanks to the community showing up and lending a hand where it’s needed.

Members of the Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers Club have pitched in adding recommendations to improve the area and teaming up with residents including a grandfather and grandson to assist with construction works.

Track designer Brett Barnes from Dirtz Track and track builder Shaun O’Connor from OConnor Group have worked hard to ensure our community has a fun and inclusive recreational space. These guys deliver some of the best pump tracks in Australia, so it’s fantastic to have them on board for this project.

You will see in the images that the pump track is also inclusive and suitable for adaptive riders. Soon, residents of all abilities will be able to propel their way around the pump track and enjoy the thrill of the track.

Check out the amazing drone shot of the track showing the different paths riders can take. This shot is thanks to Olly & Kristy from Montem Bike Tours.

A huge thank you to the many members of our community who are coming together to bring this project to life.
