Happy International Women's Day Kempsey!
Published on 08 March 2022
Honouring and recognising the achievements of women across the globe will come to life today as the world celebrates International Women’s Day.
Each year on 8 March is International Women’s Day and in 2022 the theme is Changing Climates: Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow – a theme that recognises the contribution of women and girls, who are working towards equality and generating a sustainable future.
Though women and girls face greater vulnerability and exposure to disasters, and conflicts, they remain largely ignored in helping to solve these issues. As the most impacted, women are also a critical part of the solution.
Kempsey Shire Council is committed to embracing all forms of diversity having recently engaged with the community on projects such as developing a Disability Inclusion Action Plan and Reconciliation Action Plan. These plans are being developed to make our region more inclusive and to celebrate people of disability
