Flooding impacts bus services in the shire

Flooding and road closures are impacting route and school bus services across the Kempsey Shire. Bus companies will operate as many series as possible when roads are open and it is safe to do so.

Busways  

Tuesday 8 March

All buses servicing the Kempsey Shire will be CANCELLED today due to flooding and school closures.

This will include both route and school runs and services to all upriver destinations, Crescent Head, Smithtown, Frederickton and South West Rocks.

For services between Kempsey and Port Macquarie

Morning - Tuesday 8 March

  • 340 Route Service departing Port Macquarie at 07:07 travelling to Kempsey is CANCELLED.
  • 340 Route Service departing from Kempsey at 09:10 travelling to Port Macquarie is CANCELLED.
  • 340 Route Service departing Kempsey at 07:31 from Belgrave Street will only operate from Lachlan Street, South Kempsey. Departing at 07:35.
  • School Bus S423 is CANCELLED.
  • School Bus S473 is CANCELLED.

Afternoon - Tuesday 8 March

  • School Bus S569 will operate but students will only be dropped off at South Kempsey - Lachlan Street.
  • School Bus S547 is CANCELLED.
  • 340 Route Service departing Settlement City at 3:52pm and travelling to Kempsey, will only operate to Lachlan Street, South Kempsey.
  • 340 Route Service departing Port Macquarie at 2:20pm travelling to Kempsey is CANCELLED.
  • 340 Route Service departing Kempsey at 3:48pm travelling to Port Macquarie is CANCELLED
