Council still supporting flood impacted residents
Did the flood impact you? Need help with recovery?
Kempsey Shire Council’s Recovery Team and a range of government agencies and charities are here to help our community recover from the floods.
Our Recovery Hub at 57 Elbow Street West Kempsey remains the primary source for in person flood recovery assistance. It’s open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and we are online at ksc.pub/recovery.
Flood Recovery Community Meetings
We are hosting community meetings across our shire, so that you can meet with us to talk about how the floods impacted you and your community.
We will provide updates on the recovery process and answer your questions about waste, support and recovery.
You can also speak directly with relevant government agencies and charities about what flood recovery assistance is available to you.
BlazeAid need volunteers
Do you have any spare time to help flood-affected residents get back on their feet?
Volunteer organisation BlazeAid have opened their Kempsey Camp at the Kempsey Showground to help flood-impacted residents repair fencing and property damage.
While the camp is up and running, BlazeAid are still looking for volunteers to assist in helping the community since the recent storms and flooding swept across the valley.
No experience needed. Anybody with any time can make a difference. BlazeAid volunteers are provided with daily meals in return for their support in getting community members back on their feet.

Silage waste disposal
A reminder that primary producers are advised to take advantage of the closing window to drop their silage plastic off for free at the Kempsey Waste Management Centre. This service will be available at no cost until 4pm Tuesday 4 May.
Producers who are having difficulty transporting waste to the Kempsey Waste Management Centre are invited to call Customer Service at 02 6566 3200 to express interest in organising a one-time-only pick up directly from their farm in the week commencing 10 May.
