Crescent Head Barbecue Shelter to be removed

Kempsey Shire Council regrets that the shelter and barbecue area on the Crescent Head foreshore area has reached the end of its usable lifespan and will need to be removed.

Council is currently arranging for the demolition of the structure, which is expected to take place within the next 2-3 weeks.

Unfortunately, this means that the area will be temporarily unusable for the community. Council has notified the caravan park managers of the scheduled demolition.

Council staff are working to source another shelter to replace the old one, but the lead time for the product is estimated to be around 6 weeks. If all goes well, we hope to install a new shelter in approximately 8 weeks.

In the meantime, Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to visitors and the community.

There are other public barbecues available for the community to use at the Crescent Head Rotunda located along Baker Drive.

Council is working to ensure that the Crescent Head foreshore area will continue to be a welcoming and enjoyable destination for residents and visitors alike.
