Amendments to Kemp Street Sports Complex Master Plan
Councillors will determine whether to consult with users of the Kemp Street Sports Complex on proposed amendments to the Kemp Street Sports Complex Master Plan.
A local sports club committee has asked Council to remove the proposed new turf wicket and multi-sport area. The club expressed that their extended pre-season and summer activities taking place on the football (soccer) fields will be adversely impacted by the cricket facilities.
The club also provided its yearly schedule of extended usage of the fields and expressed that cricket would be unable to use the turf wicket sufficiently to justify its maintenance.
The recommendation from staff to Council is to carry out the review and consultation with the cricket groups and the football club.
