Let’s get out and be social again

International Day of People with Disability 2019

It’s been a while since we could come together to attend our much-loved community events, but it is great to see the Shire’s social calendar filling up again.

December will be a month full of festive fun with Kempsey Shire Council supporting some key events taking place early in the month to kick off the holiday season with a bang.

Celebrate people of all abilities at the Big Day Out

International Day of People with Disability on Friday 3 December will be marked with a Big Day Out event at Riverside Park, an event that was sadly cancelled in 2020.

This will be the year’s most fun Friday for all to enjoy. There will be a laser tag arena, jumping castles, magic shows from Troppo Bob, delicious food, music, and last but certainly not least, a live interactive reptile show. Everyone is invited to the free event.

There are 4.4 million people in Australia living with disability whose lives, contributions and achievements deserve to be celebrated and that’s what International Day of People with Disability is all about.

It’s time to officially launch the West Kempsey Pump Track

Many of us have been looping around the pump track for a couple of months now, but the West Kempsey Pump Track Committee is excited to invite you to its official launch.

With professional riders coming along to show off some awesome tricks as well as providing some top tips to get you riding your best, this is an afternoon you don’t want to miss. Wanna know another reason to come? There are loads of giveaways, including a dirt jump bike!

There will be a barbeque serving up some free food and DJ Mark Purcell spinning the decks on the day to help celebrate the popular pump track.

So come on down on Saturday 4 December between 2pm and 6pm to the West Kempsey Pump Track on Polwood Street. To find out more, head to ksc.pub/pump-track

And don’t forget to vote

Also on Saturday 4 December is the Local Government Election. Voting is compulsory, so check out Local government elections for info on how to vote early, where to vote on the day or other voting options.
