Make sure you’re free on Saturday 22 July when Sky Stories comes to South West Rocks for one night only promising an evening of fun, free and fascinating entertainment.

South West Rocks Figtree Descendants Aboriginal Corporation, in partnership with Kempsey Shire Council, invites everyone to join in discovering the deep connection of local Aboriginal culture through the wonders of the stars, sky, and light shows.

This immersive event will provide a unique and captivating connection to the local area and traditional history. Illuminated sculptures, dance performances, and entertaining acts will bring to life the rich heritage of the Dunghutti and Thunggutti cultures, with videos narrated by local Elders. From the mountains to the sea, their stories will unfold before your eyes.

Be prepared to be amazed by mesmerising displays, including giant brolga, koala, and rainbow serpent sculptures illuminated with vibrant colours. Observatory Port Macquarie will also be providing telescopes for stargazing, offering a glimpse into the enchanting world of constellations and celestial wonders.

The event kicks off at 6pm in Brighton Park, with an additional entrance near South West Rocks Surf Club. Take a leisurely stroll and encounter a multitude of sculptures, glow poles, and woven creations adorned with lights. These awe-inspiring artworks are the result of collaboration among school groups, local artists, and South West Rocks Figtree Descendants Aboriginal Corporation.

Don't forget to indulge your taste buds with delicious treats from the local restaurants and food vans on-site. Families with children can enjoy the engaging activities at the children's craft tent, adding to the memorable experience.
