Killick Creek at Crescent Head

There’s one week left to provide your feedback on how Kempsey Shire Council should manage our local waterways as part of a draft Coastal Management Plan.

Council is up to the next phase of the development of the plan and has been asking the community if they think a list of actions outlined in the draft plan will improve our waterways.

Residents have already heard about the plan, asked council questions and put forward suggestions at community workshops held in South West Rocks, Hat Head and Crescent Head.

Management ideas such as on-going water quality testing, protecting native vegetation and removing non-native species have been raised for consideration. Do you agree?

If you missed a workshop you can still submit your feedback online via our short survey. To fill out the survey, please visit Council’s engagement website, Your Say Macleay.

The survey is open until 3pm Wednesday 31 August 2022.

This project is being undertaken as part of the broader Coastal Management Program (CMP) for the Kempsey Shire Council Local Government Area Coastal Zone. The project is initiated by Kempsey Shire Council and is funded jointly through Council and the NSW State Government Coast and Estuary Grant Program.
