Visitors to the Crescent Head Aquatic Centre will soon enjoy easier and safer access, with new improvements starting this week.

Council’s infrastructure team has begun work on a new four-car parking area, including a dedicated disabled parking space, as well as an accessible footpath and ramp leading into the pool. These works are part of Council’s Aquatic Strategy 2033, which focuses on improving accessibility, sustainability and facilities across local aquatic centres.

The new car park and footpath are designed to make the centre more inclusive for all community members, especially those with limited mobility. Construction of the footpath is expected to take around 10 days, with roadworks following for another five days.

During the upgrade, the existing ramp will be closed off, but the public can continue to access the pool via the normal entrance. The team working on the project will remove the existing ramp after the Easter break - no work will be done over the break.

Council thanks pool users for their patience during these improvements and looks forward to unveiling a safer, more accessible entryway for the Crescent Head community.
