New gates for Frederickton oval
Published on 18 March 2025
Frederickton oval will soon have new gates installed on Flanagan Street in response to ongoing vandalism affecting both the building and the adjacent sports field.
Repeated damage from vehicles driving on the field has led to costly repairs, impacting both the condition of the facility and Council resources. The installation of the gates aims to prevent unauthorised access, protecting the field from further harm and ensuring it remains in good condition for community use.
The sporting facilities remain available for public use through Council’s standard booking process. Individuals, sporting clubs, and community groups can continue to book the field for one-off or seasonal use via the Sports Booking Form on the Council website.
By implementing this measure, Council seeks to reduce the long-term financial burden associated with ongoing repairs and maintenance while ensuring the field remains a valuable asset for the Frederickton community.
