Kempsey Shire Council is working to restore Riverside Park Playground following recent flooding. Floodwaters remain in the area and the area will be fenced off from Thursday 13 March while assessments are carried out.

The NSW SES will clean the paths and equipment and remove debris by the end of this week. An electrician will also inspect and secure the BBQ facilities.

Next week, contractors will restore the soft fall surfacing, adding extra material where necessary.

If all goes to plan, the playground will be fully accessible by the end of next week, ready for families to enjoy. Delays in supplies could affect the reopening timeline.
