Clean Up Australia inspires and mobilises communities to improve and conserve our environment, eliminate litter and end waste.

Clean Up Australia Day 2025 is back and celebrating 35 years of environmental action.

It's an easy and fun way to connect with your friends and community while improving our environment.

Last year, 17 schools and community groups across the Kempsey Shire organised activities for Clean Up Australia Day on 3 March, cleaning up beaches, school grounds, rivers and creeks, parks, and roadsides. It was a great success with dedicated groups and individuals making a difference in their community - and we want to go bigger and better this year!

Here's how you can get involved:

1. Host a Clean Up: register to host a Clean Up and invite friends, family, and colleagues along. You'll receive everything you need to host a safe and fun event.

2. Join a Clean Up: join a Clean Up event near you and meet some great people while making a positive difference to the environment.

More than 22 million Aussies have participated in Clean Up Australia activities and events over the past three decades.

Over that time Clean Up Australia has evolved to provide practical solutions to help all Australians live more sustainably every day of the year, and emerged as one of the country’s most recognised, credible and trusted environmental charities.

What was started over thirty years ago, by an "average Australian" who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
