How do I nominate someone for the 2025 Australia Day Awards?
Published on 07 November 2024
The 2025 Australia Day Awards are just around the corner, and it’s time to recognise the local heroes who make the Macleay Valley a better place for everyone.
This is your chance to celebrate someone who inspires you – a friend, neighbour, or group who goes above and beyond to support our community.
These awards shine a light on the individuals who quietly uplift us all, often without seeking any recognition. Now, you have the opportunity to let their hard work, kindness, and dedication take centre stage.
Nominating someone is as simple as heading to ksc.pub/ausday and filling out a quick form.
You can nominate someone who has made a lasting impact as ‘Citizen of the Year’ or honour a young person (aged 30 or under) as ‘Young Citizen of the Year.’
If a local group has come together to make a difference, the ‘Community Group of the Year’ award is the perfect way to acknowledge their efforts. For those tireless volunteers, there’s the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ category, celebrating their selfless work.
And don’t forget the new ‘Reconciliation Award,’ created to recognise individuals or groups actively building respect and unity across our communities.
Every person or group nominated helps make our region the warm and supportive place we know and love. Imagine how it would feel to see that special person in your life honoured for their contribution. This is more than just an award – it’s a public acknowledgment of their efforts to make our community stronger and brighter.
Nominations are open until 4 December, so don’t wait.
Head over to ksc.pub/ausday and share the story of someone who inspires you. Whether it’s their dedication, generosity, or community spirit, your nomination will help us give thanks to those who truly make a difference in the Macleay Valley.
