Kempsey Shire Council, in partnership with the NSW Government and Midwaste, is holding a free Household Chemical CleanOut event on Sunday, 10 November 2024, from 8 am to 3 pm at the Kempsey Waste Management Centre.

This one-day event is your opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals, making your home safer while helping protect our environment.

Accepted items include household quantities of garden and pool chemicals, household cleaners, hobby chemicals, poisons, batteries, paint, motor oils, fluids and fuels, fluorescent lights, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors. When transporting these materials, please ensure they are securely stored and clearly labeled.

For ongoing disposal of common household problem wastes, remember that fluorescent lights, smoke detectors, paint, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, batteries, and motor oils are accepted at your local Community Recycling Centre (CRC) year-round.

Always store problem waste safely in clearly labeled containers, in a cool, dry place, and out of reach of children and pets until you can visit a CRC or CleanOut event.

Make a difference by joining us for this important day of safe disposal—protecting your home and contributing to a cleaner Kempsey Shire.
