Pedestrians had extra reason to stop and think on Friday as they were asked to share their hopes and concerns about the future with senior staff from Kempsey Shire Council.

The community were in full voice at the first Shaping Our Future and Council's Priorities event, held in the Kempsey CBD, a new approach to connecting the community and Council.

Participants engaged in discussions covering a variety of topics, from their aspirations for the Kempsey Shire to pressing issues like environmental sustainability, economic growth, and community services.

These face-to-face gatherings provide an opportunity for the people of the Shire to share their thoughts and ideas, reflecting the community's call for active participation in local governance. The events aim to showcase the voices of residents, visitors, and stakeholders, allowing for a deeper understanding of how to navigate priorities and the desired directions for the Shire in the coming years.

The community's feedback and constructive exchange of ideas will play a crucial role in informing future planning and initiatives.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated on the day. Your insights are invaluable as we work together on our future.
