Bushfire danger period approaching

The Bush Fire Danger period will begin on 1 September and end 31 March 2025 for the Kempsey Local Government Area. During this period landowners and managers are required to obtain permits before lighting fires for land clearance or fire breaks.
Understanding your responsibilities and the associated risks when it comes to lighting fires is an important part of keeping yourself and our community safe - and there are significant penalties if you light an illegal fire or if your fire escapes and causes damage to property or the environment.
