When is my rates notice coming?

Electronic notices

Your Annual Rates and Charges Notice will soon be landing in your mailbox, with notices sent to Australia Post for distribution this week. For those people registered to receive their rates by email, they will already have received their notices into their inbox this week.

Your annual rates notice outlines the fees and charges levied by Council, including your base residential or business rates (based on your land value), environmental levy, water, sewer, and stormwater charges.

2024-25 rates notice

This rates notice will incorporate the first rate rise of the recently approved Special Rate Variation, which is 7.09% of the base rate (the top figure on your rates notice) to be applied in the 2024/25 year.

Arranging a monthly or fortnightly direct deposit to pay your rates, rather than quarterly or yearly payments, is an effective and simple way to manage your bill stress - for more information on how to set this up, visit our website or call Customer Service on 65 663 200.

Many Kempsey Shire residents have registered to receive their rates notice via email.

If you would like to help Council reduce its impact on the environment and have the convenience of an eNotice delivered directly into your inbox, you can quickly and easily register for the eNotices service here:

If you are signed up for eNotices but do not receive your Rates Notice in your inbox, check your spam and junk folder. To stop notices from landing in those folders, please check that your email settings allow attachments to be sent.

Accompanying your annual rates notices is a cover letter from the General Manager, your waste vouchers and a newsletter outlining different support options for people and businesses who are experiencing financial hardship. Download the digital version of the newsletter below.
