The Vegetable Plot

Kempsey Library has been the place for Kempsey kids to be this school holidays, with a sell out performance of The Vegetable Plot, a Dungeons and Dragons session, and everybody's favourite story time mascot, Piper the story dog.

Vegetable Plot

Kempsey Library was abuzz with excitement during our recent school holiday event featuring the incredible Vegetable Plot! With 62 kids and 40 adults in attendance, the show was a resounding success.

The room was packed, and the energy was electric as everyone danced to new hits like "Cucumber Rumba" and "Pineapple People," as well as beloved classics like "Avocado" and "Twist and Sprout."

The talented, Aria-nominated musical group used the power of music and storytelling to help kids fall in love with veggies. The dance moves were on point, and the joy was palpable. This special performance not only entertained but also inspired a love for healthy eating.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event unforgettable!

Dungeons and Dragons

The long-awaited Dungeons and Dragons event at Kempsey Library was a fantastic success! Thanks to our amazing Dungeon Master, Sam, six teens delved into a world of adventure, learning the game while laughing and making new friends.

The session was filled with pesky skeletons, characters obsessed with crabs and tap dancing, and a rogue campaigner distracted by shiny pirate gold. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with all participants eager for future sessions.

We can’t thank Sam enough for his effort, patience, and enthusiasm in teaching the young adventurers.

A magical storytime at Kempsey Library

Today's storytime session at Kempsey Library was a fantastic success! Fifteen excited children and ten happy adults joined Piper and Helen for a morning filled with fun and creativity. The laughter was contagious as the kids enjoyed the hilarious tales of 'My Dog Banana' by Roxane Brouillard and 'Pig the Pug' by Aaron Blabey.

After storytime, the children unleashed their creativity with paints, scissors, and glue, crafting dream homes for Piper. The bright colors and thoughtful features added to each house delighted Piper, who received countless pats on the head and made many new friends. The dedication and imagination shown by the kids were truly heartwarming.

This event was a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy some fantastic stories, and let their creative spirits soar. We can’t wait for the next storytime session!
