Exciting upgrades at Service Clubs Park
Published on 28 June 2024
The smell of pies and sausage rolls is strong after we crossed the finish line on the recent upgrades to the canteen and toilets at Service Clubs Park.
These facilities, essential to our schools, sports clubs, and community groups, have undergone a much-needed refurbishment by Kempsey Shire Council, making every visit to the park more pleasant and enjoyable. We understand the importance of these amenities, and we are proud to have completed this project in a cost-effective and efficient manner, ensuring the best value for our community.
The canteen, a central hub for sports events and school gatherings, has been fully revamped. With an improved layout, new benches, tapware and enhanced safety features, it is now better equipped to serve our community’s needs. Whether it’s a weekend cricket match or a school fundraiser, the upgraded canteen is set to provide a more enjoyable and efficient service.
Equally important are the newly refurbished toilets. We know that clean and accessible restrooms are crucial for all park visitors. The updated facilities now include an ambulant toilet and renovation done to the existing toilets. The renovations also focused on sustainability, with water-saving fixtures and energy-efficient lighting, reflecting our commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
We are particularly pleased to highlight that these improvements were carried out with careful financial management. By leveraging local contractors, sourcing materials smartly, and applying meticulous project planning, we were able to keep costs low without compromising on quality. This approach not only supports local businesses but also ensures that the community's resources are used wisely. Every dollar spent was carefully considered, ensuring maximum benefit for our community.
We invite everyone to visit Service Clubs Park and see the improvements firsthand. The upgraded canteen and toilets have already been in use for a bunch of athletics carnivals over recent weeks.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we strive to enhance our public spaces responsibly.
