The composting workshop held on Saturday, 18 May 2024, led by Shelley from Midwaste, was a great success, with 13 attendees keen to learn all things compost.

It was wonderful to have such an engaged community attend the event, eager to learn how to transform their food scraps into nutrient-rich compost.

The two-hour session was not only informative but also inspiring, as attendees discovered the simple steps they can take to enhance the quality of their soil, boost their gardens, and reduce household methane emissions.

Participants left the workshop armed with practical knowledge on reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to lower greenhouse-gas emissions.

This lovely event proved to be a great opportunity for community learning and environmental stewardship, with attendees swapping numbers and sharing details about where they could find coffee grounds, and other materials to add to their compost!

Thanks to Shelley and Midwaste for partnering with Kempsey Library to provide such a valuable and educational experience. Everyone learned so much, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on our local environment.
