In a vibrant collaboration that brought colour and creativity to the local library, mural artists Jack Hodges and Alejandra Ramirez teamed up with several young community members to design a unique piece of art.

Inspired by the vivid colours found in a Ken Done book available at the library, the team chose a palette that features large blocks of bright colours as the mural's base.

Floating atop these colourful blocks are carefully painted representations of books, chosen by the participating young artists based on their favourite covers found throughout the library. The mural also incorporates elements from various video games.

Contributing to the mural's creation were young locals Liza S, Dylan M, Charlotte M, Hope K, and Akayshia E. Their creative input was invaluable in bringing this artistic vision to life.

The mural is finished with an empowering quote from Australian author Maxine Beneba Clarke: "Who cares if you're a nerd, kid. You're going to rock the world, kid."

This collaborative effort not only beautified the library but also provided a platform for young individuals to express themselves and engage with their community through art.
