Macleay Valley Seniors Festival events on in March!

Join in all the festivities during Macleay Valley Seniors Festival with a range of fabulous events being held across the Kempsey Shire Community.
Starting on Monday 11 March, the Macleay Valley Seniors Festival events will be running all the way through Seniors Week until Saturday 23 March 2024.
There are lots of ways to get involved, with majority of the events free for seniors to attend.
Kempsey Library will play host to three free events including an introduction to family history session where Rozzi from Kempsey Family History group is sharing her tips and tricks for family history research.
There will also be a hands-on jewellery weaving workshop with talented local artist Gai Southwell from Manhuti Walkabout Jewellery to learn the meditative practice of weaving.
Tracey from Hungry Puku Catering will be hosting a tasty seniors cooking segment showcasing an entrée, main and dessert, which is sure to be popular!
While you’re at the library, grab yourself a free large print book during the giveaway on Monday 18 March.
The Slim Dusty Centre is offering seniors free all-day admission to the Slim Dusty Museum on Tuesdays during the Seniors Festival.
Kempsey Family History group is running a local museum road trip to Bowraville Folk Museum and Frank Patridge Museum, and Coastline Credit Union is hosting a Seniors Wellbeing Workshop at the Kempsey Macleay RSL club.
Entertainment lovers will enjoy the Seniors Movie Deal offered by Majestic Cinemas Kempsey with discounted tickets throughout seniors week when you present your seniors card at the box office.
Some of our Shire’s wonderful Country Women’s Associations (CWA) are hosting morning tea celebrations in Gladstone, Kempsey and South West Rocks, offering a wonderful way for seniors to connect and enjoy each other’s company as well as some delicious baked treats.
The Gladstone CWA Evening Branch is also hosting an intergenerational reading session at Crescent Head Public School.
