Pet adoption profile – After a rough start Snoop is home and happy
Published on 03 August 2023
During Local Government Week 2023 our team is sharing their pet adoption stories to inspire you to take the lead and consider adopting your next pet.
Surrendered to council Snoop was residing on the streets and had a fondness for repeatedly chasing the postman! Snoop had not received proper care, veterinary treatment or obedience training that every animal deserves.
Jack Acting Group Manager Development & Compliance adopted Snoop from the Kempsey Shire Pound around 4 years ago and commented “My partner and I were wanting a dog and thought adopting a dog from the council pound was the right decision for us.”
Working closely with the ranger’s team, Jack was aware of the needs of impounded animals and commented he “wanted to give an animal a chance at finding love and happiness despite having a rough start to life.” The minute Jack met Snoop he knew she was the right dog for him with a huge benefit being “we also skipped the puppy stage which meant no chewed-up shoes!” Jack mentioned.
Advice Jack shares with other potential pet adoptees is:
“Have a chat to Councils ranger team to see if there are any animals suited for your family, lifestyle and work commitments. Make sure you have the time & means to be a responsible pet owner & caregiver. If you make an informed decision, a pet from the pound can be the perfect choice.”
Thank you to Jack for sharing Snoop’s story she certainly is a beautiful dog that has a lot of love to give.
