Eat and yarn together to celebrate Reconciliation Week

Celebrate and share a bush tucker inspired lunch and cultural activities in Kempsey to mark Reconciliation Week.
Kempsey Shire Council invites all residents to drop-in to a special event to celebrate Reconciliation Week.
The event will take place on Monday 29 May between 12pm until 2pm at Kempsey Library.
Aisha Spokes, Community Project Officer at Council is excited to see the community come together for this event.
"We hope that this event will create a safe and welcoming space to learn from each other," Said Ms Spokes.
"We encourage everyone to drop by, grab a bite, try weaving, share yarns and celebrate the rich culture and history of our local First Nations people.
The event will feature a light lunch inspired by bush tucker and activities including
- Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony
- Cultural weaving
- Community yarning circle
- Buffet lunch including wallaby lasagna and lemon myrtle pumpkin soup damper
The event is free to attend, but registration is encouraged to assist with catering. You can register by visiting ksc.pub/eat-yarn.
