Meetings, forums & catch-ups

Ordinary Council meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of every month at 9am in the Council Chambers, Civic Centre, corner Elbow and Tozer Streets, West Kempsey. 

Matters to be considered by Council must be submitted to the General Manager at least 10 days before the meeting date.

Meeting agendas

You can see a copy of Council’s meeting agenda:

  • on this website one week before the meeting
  • at Council's Customer Service Centre or the Kempsey Library from the Friday before the meeting.

Public attendance

Members of the public are invited to attend Council meetings and, with the Mayor’s prior approval, may address Council in the public forum session on specific topics.

Recordings

Under Council’s Code of Meeting Practice(PDF, 493KB) a recording of each Council meeting must be published on the Kempsey Shire Council website and retained for 12 months. To access recordings, go to Live stream of Council Meetings.

Please note that under Council’s Code of Meeting Practice a person must not live-stream or use an audio recorder, video camera, mobile phone or any other device to make a recording of the proceedings of a meeting of Council or a committee of Council without the prior authorisation of Council or the committee.

Meetings at Council are run in accordance with the Kempsey Shire Council Code of Meeting Practice(PDF, 493KB) which facilitates the smooth running of meetings, and the creation of an environment where the public interest can be upheld.
