Licence benefits

Kempsey Shire Council manages the commercial use of our public spaces to ensure they can be used safely, maintained adequately and enjoyed by all. Commercial activities on Council managed land policies aim to support commercial activity while giving the community certainty that all commercial users are appropriately licensed and insured.

These policies have a number of benefits for business:

  • Businesses are legally approved and entitled to operate in the nominated locations.
  • Businesses can be involved in cooperative marketing initiatives, including promotion as a licensed operator on Council’s website and social media platforms.
  • A Commercial Licence Certificate can be issued so people know that a business is a commercial licence holder and approved to operate in that location.
  • The public spaces where commercial activities take place are well maintained.

Council's policies also benefit the public in the following ways:
