Waste Transfer Stations
Kempsey Shire Council operates three remote Waste Transfer Station (WTS) sites and one central Waste Management Centre (WMC). The WTS sites operate at various times and are closed on some public holidays. See the opening times and locations below.
Sort to save! Sorting and separating your waste types before you come to the gate can save money for both yourself and for your community.
Sorted recyclables will be accepted free of charge excluding televisions and computer monitors where a fee of $5.00 per unit is applicable to help cover special costs involved in recycling them.
Unsorted material must be treated as mixed waste which costs you and council more to dispose of as landfill.
Waste oil is accepted free in non-commercial quantities.
Materials accepted at the WMC include paint, chemicals and asbestos but only paint can be accepted at the WTS sites.
