Keeping boredom at bay these school holidays

Media release - 27 June 2018

With the winter school holidays just around the corner, Kempsey Shire Library will have kids sorted with two fun events to be held in July.

The library, together with New Horizons, will be holding a Craft in the Park workshop at Wigay Aboriginal Cultural Park on Sea Street, Kempsey as part of local NAIDOC Week celebrations.

Participants will be able to learn more about native plants and have a go at some weaving on Thursday 12 July from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The event is open to all ages with light refreshments provided.

Kids will be able to learn more about bees at a workshop hosted by Mid North Coast producers Sven and Ana from Amber Drop Honey.

The Wonderful World of Bees workshop will give kids an opportunity to take a look at the bees close up (safely behind glass), take part in some arts and crafts and have a taste test of some of Amber Drop’s delicious honey.

The workshop will take place on Thursday 19 July from 10:30am to 12pm at Kempsey Library. Bookings for this event are essential.

For more information about any of the events happening phone the library on 6566 32310 or send an e-mail to kempsey.library@kempsey.nsw.gov.au
