School holiday fun at Kempsey Library

Media release - 19 September 2017

Two exciting events are planned for the upcoming school holidays at Kempsey Shire Library.

The ‘Create your own mini greenhouse’ workshop will be held on Wednesday 27 September from 10:30am until 11:30am.

Aimed at children aged six to 12 years, this free, hands-on workshop will be presented by team members from Bunnings Kempsey North with the support of library staff.

On Thursday 5 October, the ‘Maker Party in a Box’ workshop will be held from 10:30am to 11:30am.

In partnership with the Telstra Foundation, the workshop is part of a series of popular Makey Makey after school workshops the library has held this year.

Children in Year 3 and up will have the opportunity to participate in things like racing a sphero robot, building their own electro circuits and more.

Kempsey Library’s Team Leader of Library Services, Angie Meers, said the library is a fantastic outing for children in the school holidays.

“We encourage parents to bring their kids to the library to discover some of the fun workshops we will have on offer during the school holidays,” she said.

“The library is free and easily accessible and you never know, parents may even find something they like with our large range of books in hardcopy and electronic formats, magazines and CDs.”

Places for each session are limited. Please book ahead to avoid disappointment.
