Water supply disruption - Frederickton & Lower Macleay

Media release - 13 August 2017

The main water supply to the Lower Macleay was disrupted earlier today due a pipeline failure. Council staff have isolated the trunkmain that runs from Frederickton and normally services Smithtown, Gladstone, Jerseyville and the surrounding rural areas.

There will be large number of properties in the area above already without water. Other properties will be experiencing low water pressure and there may be some discoloured or dirty water. We expect that it will take at least 4 hours to repair and reinstate the water supply.
